October is Global Diversity Awareness Month

Join Us Virtually for the CHRA Annual Diversity Awards and Education Program

"When Actions Speak 1,000 Words: DEI in the Virtual Workplace"

Annual James W. Rouse Excellence in Diversity Awards Presentation

Wednesday, October 14, 2020

5:00PM-6:30PM

Join us virtually for CHRA's Annual Diversity Awards Presentation and Education Program. On this evening, we will present the James W. Rouse Excellence in Diversity Awards to organizations that have implemented successful diversity and inclusion initiatives in their workplaces.

The awards presentation will be followed by an educational program where attendees will hear from a panel of diversity and inclusion practitioners and experts to discuss how they have created, adapted and improved upon award-winning programs amid a global pandemic and the social crises of today.

Featured panelists include recent James W. Rouse Excellence in Diversity Awards recipients:

Jennifer Tardy, CEO, Jennifer Tardy Consulting, Inc.

Jennifer Marana, Director of Diversity and Inclusion

Robin Moran, Chief HR Officer, Enoch Pratt Free Library

Stacey Herman, Director of Post-Secondary Services, Kennedy Krieger Institute

The speakers will address the successes and challenges for diversity, inclusion and equity in 2020 via a moderated panel discussion. The discussion will focus on relevant and pressing issues that impact diversity efforts and initiatives in today's workplaces that have shifted to a mostly remote work environment.

During this program, the panel will address some of the topics and questions CHRA members have asked including:

  • Has it been difficult to sustain current diversity programs, or implement new ones, during this unprecedented time of a public health crisis and civil unrest?
  • Has employee and client engagement decreased, remained the same or increased over the past several months?
  • How have you “lived” your organization’s diversity statement this year in a virtual environment?
  • How do you address those controversial DEI discussions at work?
  • What elements of your workplace culture have bolstered the success of your DEI initiatives?
  • What gives your programs the sometimes elusive “staying power”?
  • If you could change one thing about the way your employees or clients experience DEI at your workplace, what would it be?
  • What advice would you give a sister organization looking to create and sustain a successful, comprehensive diversity and inclusion program at their workplace?

If you have additional questions, we invite you to join us! Register here to save your spot and to be a part of this important discussion.

Is your organization interested in sponsoring the Annual Diversity Event? Sponsorships are available -  please click here for more information or contact us at info@chra.com.
