The Chesapeake Human Resources Association (CHRA) is the largest and most active SHRM chapter in Maryland – with membership of over 1,000 Human Resource professionals and consultants. CHRA’s annual Fall Conference is a cutting edge event that brings together HR professional of all levels and prestigious area employers who want to learn more about employment law and legislation.


This year we’re going virtual! We’ll be bringing the same great content, the same opportunities for professional development and the same energy directly to you!


We are committed to delivering great value to our attendees and this new virtual format offers a number of benefits including a flexible schedule, no travel costs and enhanced networking opportunities. 


The Fall Conference committee is now conducting it's Call for Speakers. This is your opportunity to present valuable information to the HR business community and share your expertise with members and supporters. We are looking for dynamic speakers who can engage an online audience.

Call for Speakers

Presenters will be facilitating 60-minute virtual sessions (inclusive of questions). We are looking for strategic content and detailed proposals regarding topics that relate to employment law and legislation, in an engaging and highly interactive format. Examples of specific topics that the Fall Conference committee is looking for are:


  • Managing Interplay Between ADA/FMLA/WC
  • Maryland HR Legislative Updates
  • Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion
  • Marijuana in the Workplace
  • Handling Work from Home Requests
  • Unemployment Insurance


All proposals must follow the format on the proposal form or it will not be considered. All proposals must be received no later than June 30, 2020. Submissions after this date will not be considered.
